Evie
Oil on Paper
This is a dog I fostered in 2023. She was brought to New York City by Pixie and Paws Rescue from a hoarding case. Her sister, Ivey, was adopted during the adoption event where I was volunteering. No one was able to take Evie, so I bit the bullet and took her to my apartment. In this painting, she is asleep and finally able to curl up in home where she is safe and loved.
Evie's adoption three days later was so bittersweet.

This is a portrait of Atlas, also a rescue German Shepherd puppy I fostered through Pixies and Paws Rescue. Fostering this time around was also very impromptu; fosters were bailing or not showing up and Atlas was the only puppy left at the foster pick up in NJ.
As a dog training enthusiast, I take puppy raising very seriously (it is the foundation for the rest of their lives!). So while I only fostered Atlas for three days, I completely fell in love with him and how quickly he was learning, and how gentle he was with my Chihuahua, Lola.
In the picture that the rescue posted on their instagram, he was labeled as "runt boy"
